In addition Bremen plays a prominent role in the field of science. In 2005 it was designated the City of Science. A large number of museums provide hands-on knowledge, including the Universum Bremen science centre, one of Europe's most successful, and the 'botanika' scientific centre. The Bremen trade fair site and Congress Center Bremen (CCB) with its seven trade fair halls and the ÖVB Arena represent the ideal location for congresses, meetings and trade fairs large and small.
